A FANTASTIC COUNTRY RETREAT SET IN THE BEAUTIFUL WYE VALLEY:
Cider Mill Cottage is located in the picturesque riverside village of How Caple in South Herefordshire. The property stands in the grounds of a listed Country House, overlooking a secluded valley and distant woodland, in the glorious, unspoilt Wye Valley, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It lies on the outskirts of the village of How Caple on the B4224, at the junction of three counties; 5 miles from Ross-on-Wye, 7 miles from Ledbury and 10 miles from Monmouth. The cottage enjoys a 4 star Quality in Tourism rating.
New in 2019: THE BOTHY; a first floor self -contained flat in a wing of the main house, providing newly re-furbished , attractive accommodation, ideally suited to those who like to escape the pressures of life for an economic, tranquil break in beautiful countryside .The flat forms the self-contained southern wing of this lovely old Rectory and sleeps 3 in 2 bedrooms (one double one single) kitchen and living room, all overlooking a large, well-tended garden. Wifi, TV, CH.give modern comforts .Foody pubs all round us. Can be used as an annexe to nearby Cider Mill Cottage, but sadly no pets as our 2 friendly Irish Setters reign supreme at Garraway House.
Visitors can enjoy a lovely peaceful location, which gives easy access to many places of interest in the surrounding areas, and at the same time a chance to relax in a well-equipped accommodation with emphasis on the comfort of its visitors. While historically old, Cider Mill Cottage has the latest in technological provision for those who do not wish to leave social media and Ultra HD TV entirely behind. Sky TV enables those keen to watch sport to include this in their holiday. We are committed to catering for the needs of walkers and enjoy the approval of the Visit England Walkers Welcome Scheme.Cider Mill Cottage is well insulated and double glazed so that together with both full CH and a log burning fire it provides an extremely cosy winter break.
The area is a historic part of England which enjoys a legacy of castles, abbeys and cathedrals to remind us of this political power-house of the past. The main occupation locally is of course farming, and at times the lanes can be busy with farm vehicles, but traffic jams are not a part of our life and both Garraway House and the Cottage are sufficiently far along their own driveways from the C classified access road to be free of any traffic noise.

Absolutely loved our stay here, wish we’d booked two weeks, not one! Really relaxing and felt at home straight away. Lovely atmosphere, Neil & Holly, Wellingborough.
Just to say that we had a wonderful time in Cider Mill Cottage . It is absolutely lovely and the attention to the little details are so worthwhile and appreciated. The atmosphere of relaxation is a credit to you. Pat, Margaret and Jackie, Portsmouth.
A lovely peaceful place to stay, superbly equipped and so comfortable. We are booking in again in 2018 as we didn’t have a chance to see and do all the interesting things suggested, from this marvellously accessible village. The children can’t wait to see young Beano again, Don , Jenny and the twins.(returners)
( Beano is a Miniature Donkey ; now a yearling, he loves meeting visitors; he and his Miniature Donkey friends live in the grounds. )
